I did not like the increase State Farm was offering for renewal of homeowners . I work with Primerica, affliated co. They offered more coverage than SF for less money. Yes. I sent my annual premium $1135 in. They send an appraiser/inspector to house. Now they increase the limits of liability to $368,100 and an additional $143. I call and tell them I don't want the additional coverage. I am told that they cover for replacement cost. They will not insure for less and I owed them more money. Take it or cancel. I cancelled and expressed that this is not a good way to do business. Bait and switch is unethical and illegal. Back to State Farm. If I was further into the coverage period, I would have had to submit to their tactics because I would have lost coverage from SF and have to come up with the premium. Now will Safeco return my full premium?

Thank you for your story. We know that insurance companies conceal information and do not explain to you how to argue.

Learning the process and knowing how to "negotiate" should not be this hard. Insurance companies hide information and tell you "our way or the highway." must unwary consumers get cut in this process, and it can be quite devastating.

We still think that having to fight that hard to argue the value of your car is not fair. Driving 70 miles to be able to argue $400 on the value of your car should not be the rule of thumb.

We know that many of those comps are not real. As you said, you were able to confirm 1 out of 3. What are the others? we wondered.

Safeco knows that they cannot take recorded statements from minors. Minors can be framed and they know better, still they try. We are glad you were able to get the statement thrown out.

We are glad this pages can help some, we are just sick of seeing cosumers get the short end of the stick.
