Borrowed car and not on insurance policy

I was driving my moms car to work because my car was down this day and so happened got into a car accident!

I was not on her policy so the insurance company said they will not pay for the damages.

My question is if you pay full coverage doesn't that cover your car repairs/damages?

Answer:

It should unless there is an exclusion. Either you were excluded on the policy or you were considered to be taking the car for your regular use. This will exclude coverage on most policies.

Do ask the insurance company to put the denial in writing.
