Claims adjuster accusing of intentional damage | What now?

by Waletta P.
(Virginia Beach, VA)

My family and I got run off of the road and my vehicle got damaged from having to swerve and I ran up on some debris.

My vehicle insurance claims adjuster accused me of purposely damaging my vehicle and wants to come out to my house late at night to supposedly collect more evidence.

Is this okay for him to do?

Answer:

Hello Waletta,

Well, such accusation is a serious thing. Insurance adjuster do have the duty to check for insurance fraud and if your story does not ad up, then they could inquiry more.

You can drop everything if you do not want coverage, but if you want your car fixed, they will have to take a look at it.

If you feel that the adjuster is accusing of you of fraud or you feel intimidated, consult with a lawyers (you should always consult with one).

I hope this helps,

Good Luck,
