Collision Center Nightmare

by Mike
(Chesapeake VA)

I was in an accident and had my truck towed directly to a collision center for repairs. It has been over 2 months and they have used about every excuse in the book as to why it is over a month past the due date expected.

The last time I got the excuse is that it wouldn't start and expected fuel problem. I went up to the shop and the manager was not in so another person showed me the truck. Hood was off, engine exposed. air cleaner off, and had been rained in.

So now I'm thinking how long has this been left in the rain with the hood off and will it not start because being left out. Air, fuel, and water mixtures are not the ideal fuel source.

I now wonder will I have future engine problems because of my engine compartment being exposed. So I've contacted the insurance company to assist but am I wanting my vehicle totaled or some form of guarantee or warranty against future problems that may have been caused by the collision center.

Answer to: Collision Center Nightmare

Hello Mike,

This is not a claim question. Is there insurance involved?

If it is, talk to the insurance company and the adjuster, usually they can make the bodyshop get your car back to you.

If there is no insurance, it is time to pick up your vehicle and have it towed to another facility.

It is always very important to talk to an attorney.

Good Luck,
