Coverage invalid if driver has arm in a cast?

I have been told that insurance companies can deny coverage if the driver is involved in an accident while wearing an arm sling or cast.

I do not see any such limitation in the policy. Further, this circumstance is certainly no riskier than people using cell phones while driving.

What can you tell me about this?

Answer:

If it is not in the policy, it is not excluded. Period.

It might be something NOT reasonable to do, but certainly not excluded. Unreasonableness is not excluded.

We are not sure that it is riskier than driving while talking on a cell phone. You can drop a phone if you need to, you cannot drop the cast.

This will probably be argue against you regarding your premium (your are an unreasonable driver, therefore riskier to insure. However, it does not exclude you from coverage.

We hope this helps,

Good Luck
