Personal Injury Claim

failure to yield

by Georgia Resident
(Georgia)

I got a ticket for failure to yield after getting in a wreck in my grandmothers car will this ticket make my insurance go up noticeably in the state of Georgia

Answer

Most likely not, but it depends on how many claims you had and how much damage you caused. The more damages, the more the insurance company can raise your premium.

If you injured someone, then it is possible that your insurance goes up. Now, insurance follows the car, so your grandma insurance will be covering this (if she is insured and there are no coverage issues), so it is possible that your insurance company will no find out about your accident and will not increase your rates.

There are several factors to consider, but if this is a small accident and this is your first claim, it is possible that the insurance company raise your premium by very small amounts if any.

Good Luck

Hector.
