I lost my receipt | Warranty issues

by Lisa
(Fontana, CA, USA)

I have my car at the dealership for the motor and I'm using my warranty they are asking my to provide them with the receipt for my oil change well I have lost it since it has been around three months.

I had it done when we were out of state and to top it off we paid cash so have no records and I can't remember the name of the place we went too can they deny us coverage?

Answer:

Hello Lisa,

This would be a warranty issue not an insurance issue. Different regulations apply to warranties than to insurance. They can ask for documentation, but it is really unclear what they can cannot do. It really will depend on the actual language of the contract you signed.

You should probably talk to an attorney regarding your rights.
