Medical bills | How are those paid after a car accident?

I was in a car accident and my medical bills are $14,000.

Now does the insurance company pay that or does that come out of my settlement?

Answer:

Hello,

Your medical bills will come out of your settlement. They are part of the settlement. Make sure that you are negotiating a settlement that includes that amount. If for example, you are looking at getting (to your pocket) $30,000, then you want to get a settlement for at least $44,000 to allow the $14,000 payment to doctors.
