My husband asked a question to the insurance company about the front windshield? | Now we have a claim

by Leigh

We have comprehensive coverage. My husband went inside and asked if we were to get it replaced but not now.

The small area is at the bottom of the front windshield. We were going to watch it last two years.

We still haven't seen any change but found out when he asked that question, they filed a claim against the windshield no pay out but still says claim filed.

We didn't file a claim and we didn't get a new windshield.

It doesn't need one. Please advice.

Answer to My husband asked a question to the insurance company about the front windshield? | Now we have a claim:

Hello Leigh,

When you tell your agent or a person from the insurance company that there is an issue, it is a claim. They may not pay, but they will have it on their records. They will also use it to calculate your premium.

If you still have the issue with the windshield, then have them fix it (they probably will fix it, not replace it unless it cannot be fixed).

Simply because you did not ask them to pay it or you were going to wait, it does not mean it is not a claim. You can ask to have a claim close, but they will never "withdraw" the claim. You are better off asking for the coverage.
