Rental car issue | Don't have receipts, what to do?

by Alfredo
(St George, UT )

I was involved in an accident a month ago. The other driver was cited. I only had liability ins.

I had a person from where the accident happen tow my 350 dully to my house. And then he towed it back to the auto body center.

I rented a truck from the same person to keep my business going for a month. I paid 30 days of storage waiting for the other insurance to respond.

I do not have any rental agreements or towing receipts. Can the person that helped give me some letter stating what I have paid. The other insurance demands on those receipts.

Answer:

Hello Alfredo,

The payments that you made? Did you made them by credit card, debit card, or check? Usually they have records of the transaction.

If that fails, the tow truck will be able to provide a copy or at least talk to the insurance company to see how much and when you paid (and for what services).

The other person can help by talking to the insurance company. A letter should help, but ask the insurance company what evidence do they want.

Good Luck,
