They are claiming inconsistent damages with the collision, should my insurance pay?

Got a car crash only police report - states no visible damage and the case was closed. A month later the person claimed left rear corner panel damage. should they have paid that claim?

I was on the highway. Saw that I passed the other car. Put on my signal and began to move over to right lane and the other car speed up on my left side. Hit me on the passenger side forcing back into my original lane. Claimed I came out of nowhere and pusher her to the left.
Moved her car from point of impact by the time the police arrived. Police said they could not see who was at fault. I lost my bumper and had tire marks and a dent in passenger front side.

Answer to They are claiming inconsistent damages with the collision, should my insurance pay?

Hello,

Well, if you are the one changing lanes, it is more likely that they try to put you at fault. Without a witness it will be difficult to claim it was not your fault, at least to some degree.

The damages must be consistent, however, insurance companies sometimes try to pay for damages and settle the claim before the other side starts claiming injuries, etc. They may be trying to protect you from that? Perhaps?

Talk to your adjuster and see if there is anything you can do.

Good luck,
