Am I entitled to loss of use?

by Glenn
(North Carolina)

My vehicle was totaled by a USAA client.

It took approximately two weeks before I got the police report. During this time I had no vehicle. Should I be compensated for loss of use for my vehicle?

Answer:

Hello Glenn,

Yes, you are entitled to loss of use as long as you are not at fault for the accident. Some insurance companies will require to show documentation of your loss (a rental car bill), some others will simply allow you to get a “cash out.”
