Another car made an illegal u-turn and caused an accident

I was stopped at a stop light, 3 cars down waiting to make a left turn. The light turned green and the car in front of me accelerates.

While in the process of making a left turn, the car in front of me decides to change direction of travel and makes an illegal u-turn which caused me to hit his car from the rear side bumper. Who is at fault?

Boy John, why are you so close to the vehicle in front of you. Even at a U turn posture, the vehicle in front is, well, in front. You had the opportunity to see this car and stop / slow down, etc.

This does not mean that the vehicle in front is not at fault, but you will have a difficult time proving that you are 0% at fault.
