Ask an Attorney a Question for FREE!

Are they required to pay the full amount of the hospital bill or just what our medical insurance paid?

Husband was in a wreck and it is not his fault. The insured has Geico who is trying to settle with us by only paying us what our medical insurance paid for his injury claim.

This amount is considerably less than the full hospital bill.

Are they required to pay full amount of our hospital bill? And if so is there a regulation/law I can state to them?

Answer:

Hello,

Well, you have to be fully compensated for the loss. That is “standard.” So long as your injuries and treatment is reasonable and necessary, they owe that.

For an specific Texas law, please contact an attorney in your local area. Also, they can give you a better assessment of the value of your claim.
