Auto Accident one day after getting insurance

I started my auto insurance policy on 09/25/2010. I got into a car accident on 09/26/2010. I had the temporary insurance card in the car at the time of the accident. The car is most likely going to be totaled. Could you please let me know whether there are any ways the insurance company can deny me coverage. Looking forward to your reply.

Yes they can delay coverage. How, in a million ways. Insurance companies are not necessarily watching out for you.

They may have to do a coverage investigation regarding when and how the coverage was granted to you and if there is a possibility that you got insurance after the loss had already occurred.

Some coverage investigation may take more than 30 days.
