Car Stolen but have to wait one month before I can file police report

I had my car taken from a party by an acquaintance without my permission but the police state that I cannot report it stolen since they had access to my keys.

I changed my insurance from liability to full coverage the moment after this occurred.

What should i do with the insurance ? its been 4 days and the person and car are still no where to be found

Should i wait the entire month before I file my claim or file it right now while i wait for the month to expire ?

You will have issues with this claim. Most likely there is no coverage if you only had liability coverage at the exact time the car was taken, regardless if you added the coverage right after that. The issues with the car keys will also give you coverage issues as they may have implied permission to drive.

Again, you need to talk to a lawyer. Usually, you want to file a claim as soon as you learn of the loss and not when you have a police report, but you do want to talk to a lawyer before you make a decision.
