Death of a policy holder

I have had an ongoing insurance claim from a car accident for over 3 years, but recently the policyholder died.

Is there any chance they will not payout now or because it was an existing claim they have to go good for it?

Answer:

It depends on state law, but it is unlikely that the deceased rights are extinguished.

Our understanding is that the estate of the decease will have rights under the policy.

Contact a local attorney to find out for sure.

Good Luck,
