Does Geico cover me hitting a deer with a rental vehicle?

by Abhinav
(Arkansas)

I hit a very big deer, that came out of no where from the dark. The vehicle was an enterprise vehicle. I filed a complain with the state trooper and he gave me a statement saying that my mistake is 0% and it was all unexpected.

I did not take any insurance with enterprise as i was told that my personal insurance will cover it. I called both enterprise and geico informing them about the incident. I was assigned an agent with geico and i am scheduled to talk to her today morning.

What should i be aware off or will I be covered ??

Answer:

Hello Abhinav.

Well, it depends on your coverage. Do you have collision coverage on your policy? If so, then you will be subject to a deductible, unless you purchased a damage waiver from Enterprise.

File the claim and see what the adjuster says.

Good luck,
