light is green at intersection cars are moving, car in front decides to stop for no apparent reason causes chain reaction accident.

Answer to Green light intersection

Hello Norma,

Well, no apparent reason? The reason will be important, critical, actually.

A vehicle following too close (defined as not with enough time to stop) can be held 100% liable, however, if there person in front cause the accident intentionally or without any excusable action (avoiding an accident or hitting someone), then that person may have liability (not necessarily 100%, but some).

Each vehicle that hit the next will also have a share of liability for the same reason (following too close).

Good Luck,
