My car was park legally in a parking space at the park parking lot a lady speeding through the parking lot hit my car now my insurance company state farm wants to put junkyard parts on my car that will void my extended warranty is there anything i can do?

Answer:

You will want to talk to an attorney. We have address the issue here: Vehicle repairs with used parts.

If you have an issue with a warranty, you do want to get legal advice to see how you can make sure you get genuine parts.

I hope this helps,

Good Luck

Your insurance company cannot force you to place used parts on your car. But, they can ask you to pay the difference in cost for the new parts. If you do not want to pay for new parts, you can ask your insurer to warrant the parts at least as long as your extended warranty. Then, advise your body shop to call you when the used parts arrive. Inspect them carefully and if they are not of the same kind or quality of the part that was on the car, call your claim representative and inform him/her. If the parts are in perfect condition (no rust, no dents, etc.) then ask your repair shop to remove the old paint, re-prime and repaint the parts and you should be good to go. I think most insurance companies will warrant those parts for as long as you own the car.
