If my horse trailer hit my truck is it Comp or collision

by Rodeo
(Minnesota)

I was turning around on uneven ground and the front overhang on my goose neck trailer hit my tool box causing damage to it, my cab and breaking my back glass. Is this comp or collision on a Minnesota written policy?

Answer:

Where was the tool box? Attached to your truck. Well, this one is difficult. Most policies define collisions with objects as a collision, unless it is a "projectile" or a free falling object (i.e a tree branch or shopping cart hitting your car).

However, if the definitions are "ambiguous" or your situation does not really fit (read your policy and to talk to a lawyer), then the insurance company must cite with you (lower deductible coverage or make the difference between coverage and no coverage).

Good Luck
