Minor take car without permission and have accident. Am I covered?

My 14 year old daughter used car without permission and had a accident.

She is not listed on my insurance application as a driver, but I have no exclusion listed on my declaration.

Will the insurance cover my car. After all insurance is on the car right?

Answer:

Most likely there is coverage. Insurance follows the car, or so insurance companies tell us. Your policy should have a clause called the omnibus clause.

This clause gives coverage to everyone using the auto as long as they are permissive drivers. People living with you are consider family members and are very often covered in auto policies (unless there are specific exclusions and/or provisions).

We hope this help

Good Luck
