My vehicle was rear ended and its driver had no license

(Iowa)

My boyfriend was driving my car and was rear ended
However, he does not have a license. The other driver admitted fault and it's on police record. They have insurance as do I.

It's got a lot of damage so I need to turn into insurance. I just don't know that since he didn't have a license, if insurance will cover to get my car repaired.

I live in Iowa.

Answer to My vehicle was rear ended and its driver had no license

Hello,

Well, you need to double check local Iowa law. Generally, since the driver of your car had no fault, the no license should not be an issue for coverage. It will however tip the underwriting department that you are allowing drivers without proper permits to drive. Thia may negatively affect your rates.

Again, check with a local attorney.

Good luck
