Totaled car but behind on payments???

My car was just totaled but I am about 2 months behind on the payments how does this affect the payoff???

Answer:

The amount the will pay will go towards your loan. If you are behind, there maybe late fees that you may still owe.

If the settlement is enough to cover the loan plus the fees you are behind, then you may end up with money in your pocket.

If however the loan is not enough, then you may end up having to make payments in a car you no longer have.
