Wifes 18 year old son hit a parked car with Moms car, he was not on our policy.

I just received a call from our auto insurance about my wife's 18 year old son who is not on our policy, hitting someone's parked car.

My wife has been letting him drive her car occasionally. The insurance asked if we knew he was driving the car. What is the worst case scenario with this?

Answer:

That there is no coverage. If the auto policy excludes her son in anyway, he will be liable for the damages himself. The person who was hit could still try to go after the owners of the car (that would be you).

That is the worst case scenario. Contact a lawyer to help you with this.

Good Luck,
